DEAR CANDIDATE, Please make sure to read the FAQ carefully before trying to reach the support.
Due to the important number of inqueries we will not be able to respond to the questions answered in the list bellow.
The application should be done on: https://www.au-pau.org/submission/ The start and closing dates of the call for applications are available on the platform. There is also a video to help you. There is no other method or link for the application on PAU Scholarship. The application steps are easy. Just open https://www.au-pau.org/submission/ Click on register and fill the fields after each step click on save. When you finish , tick “agree the statement” and click on FINISH. For more details please check the video bellow:
To apply on the PAU Scholarship we highly recommend a stable internet connection with the latest version of google Chrome (version 103 or more).  It is preferable to apply from a computer with a wired and direct connection. 
If you are already doing it Please Clear the cache of your browser.
To clear the cache of google chrome, follow the steps bellow:
  • On your computer, open Chrome.
  • At the top right, click More More.
  • Click More tools and then Clear browsing data.
  • At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
  • Next to “Cookies and other site data” and “Cached images and files,” check the boxes.
  • Click Clear data.

Any African student living in Africa or in the Diaspora who meets the eligibility criteria.

  • For Masters Programmes
    • To be younger than 30 years old for men and younger than 35 years old for women;
    • To be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree from a university or institute of higher education recognised by your country.
  • For PhD Programmes
    • To be less than 35 years old for men and less than 40 years old for women;
    • To be holder of a Master’s degree or its equivalent from a university or higher education institute/institution recognised by your country.

As the PAU programs are residential and full time study programmes, civil servants and employees of private or public companies are not admitted to the PAU, as well as students already receiving a scholarship.

  • The Pan African University Institute for Basic Sciences, Technology and Innovation (PAUSTI) is hosted at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • The Pan African University Institute for Life and Earth Sciences (including Health and Agriculture), PAULESI is located in the University of Ibadan,
  • The PAU Institute for Governance, Humanities and Social Sciences, (PAUGHSS) is hosted at the University of Yaoundé II, Soa and at the University of Buea in Cameroon.
  • The Pan African University Institute for Water and Energy Science (PAUWES) is hosted by the University of Tlemcen, Algeria.

The email should contain the following information:

  1. Your Full Name
  2. Your Birthday
  3. Passport or National ID Card Number
  4. Phone number
  5. The Email used to register
  6. A clear question describing your problem
  7. Date and time of the incident or the issue (In the case of technical issues)
  8. A screenshot of the issue you are facing (if possible).

Please use these addresses only for answers to questions. Do not send your documents to these addresses.

All diploma and document copies must be translated and submitted either in English or French

All documents must be scanned and sent in the PDF format. The size should be less than 2 MB.

If you want to reduce the size of scanned document choose a quality of 150pp. 

The Identity picture should be in JPG/JPEG format. The size should be also less than 2 MB

No. You need either a valid passport or national identity card. However, if you are selected, you will need a passport to travel. Unless the Institute is in your country.

Yes, diplomas must be certified by the University where you obtained them.

Do not send originals, a certified copy is sufficient.

Yes, all diplomas must be accompanied by transcripts.

No. When filling your application, you must have copies of your diplomas and transcripts.

Yes. You must provide a detailed CV mentioning: professional experience; participation in trainings, workshops, conferences; publications; language skills (French, English, Arabic, Portuguese)

It is a letter where you state the reasons why you want to apply for the PAU programmes.

For those applying for a Master’s degree, one (1) letter of recommendation is required from a Professor (Full Professor or Senior Lecturer from a recognised University)

For those applying for a PhD, two (2) letters of recommendation are required from two different Professors (Full Professor or Senior Lecturer from a recognised University

It is a document of maximum 4 pages mandatory for those applying for a PhD where you have to explain the objectives and orientations of the research you wish to carry out at the PAU.

The letters should be addressed to the Rector of the Pan African University.

You should give 3 names of university lecturers who can attest to your academic background. These teachers are different from those who will be giving you letters of recommendation.

No. You can only apply to One Programme.

Think carefully before submitting your application. Any attempt at multiple registrations will be nullified.

If you “SAVED” You have to go back to your application with your login and password then complete the documents and send the application back.

If you clicked on “FINISH” you can not edit your application from the platform.

To re-open you application please send an email to the support : pau.scholarshipsafrica-union.org

The email should contain the following details :

  6. Application ID (If you received  it by email when applying)

Go to the LOGIN page , and click on Lost your password? 

Provide your e-mail, fill the captcha and click on “Get new password” . Then check your inbox or SPAM. You will receive an activation link where you should click and provide your new password.

If you are trying just to  “SAVE” then click on “SAVE” again. wait 5 minutes and refresh your inbox. You may also check your SPAM box. 

If you clicked on FINISH and you haven’t received any email within 5 minutes please just send us an email to the support : pau.scholarships@africa-union.org

We will check your application status within 3 working days.

After sending your application, you will receive an electronic reply with your application number confirming that your application has been registered and the page will display an application success message

Two months after the closing date, you will receive a letter of approval of the application if you are successful. If you do not receive any approval letter, it therefore means that your application has not been successful.

In this case follow the steps bellow:

  1. make sure to not use any ads blockers, Proxy or VPN
  2. Verify that you are using a recent version of Google Chrome or Firefox
  3. Close all the tabs
  4. Reopen the website and login again using your credentials
  5. Fill the Fields and click on save after each scanned file you upload (Such Transcripts, Passport) 

It’s preferred to avoid big qualities and formats When you scan your documents. 

Try to make just a readable documents.

You can try to compress your PDF documents using any software or website like the website bellow:

According to the conditions if the required diploma is not ready, You can’t apply.

For example: If you are applying for a Master and your bachelor degree is not ready yet you can not apply, or If you are applying for a Phd and your bachelor and / or Master degrees are not ready yet you can’t apply.

The temporary and official diplomas are accepted

 

If you are getting an error message saying :

“Your IP address is locked” 

It means that you tried to connect many times with some wrong credentials.

To resolve this issue you can restart your modem, or restart your phone, or you can retry after few hours and the problem will be resolved.

If you are looking for the courses and programs of a Master or a Phd please refer to the website of the related institute mentioned in the footer of this website.

First please read this FAQ carefully.

If you have a question or problem that doesn’t exist in this list, please send an email following the steps mentioned in the 8th question.

After you click on finish, You should receive an email containing a success message. If you didn’t received it please Logout and Login again then Go to the application page it should show you a success message.

If not please continue filling the missing fields and click on Finish.
